SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES

Kaskaskia District Calendar

Roundtable
Join us for Roundtable on the first Thursday of every month to hear the latest Scouting news in Kaskaskia! All volunteers are welcome to join us.  Break out sessions that are program specific include Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring.  Come learn form your peers in your program area and help develop the best quality program for our youth.

Come test your Pinewood Derby car against the best of them in the District Pinewood Derby.  We host 3 classes of races, Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and the Outlaw class.  Do you think you have what it takes to be the District Champion?

All Scouts, Scouters, and Families invited to our annual recognition dinner.

2024 Class of AOL and Eagle Scouts.

A night of Fellowship, Dinner  and awards.

Bring your Cub Scout and their friends to this wonderful Scouting experience.  Lots of activities, including shooting sports, STEM, Hiking, and much much more.  Fun for the whole family.

Camp Vandeventer: Saturday, October 19th from 9AM to 1PM
Who: Cub Scouts and Siblings $10 ( The whole family  is invited!)

Spend a day at camp with the whole family doing all the things Cub Scouts love to do! Whether you’re a new scout or not, join us! Feel free to come for the day or just an hour. You do not want to miss this event.

Activities
BB gun shooting, Slingshots, Hike the Bobcat Trail (learn what you need to know to get your Bobcat badge!), games, crafts, and STEM demonstrations and activities are just a few of the exciting things available.

WOW (aka Webelos Outdoor Woods)
Where:  Camp Vandeventer, 3463 Trout Camp Rd, Waterloo, IL 62298
Arrive:  Friday Oct 25 after 6 (Campfire starts at 7:30 at Council Ring)
Depart:  Sun Oct 27 after 11 am
Any Scout or Adult not teaching may purchase a Patch for $4.00
Registration fee includes one patch.
This event will introduce Webelos/AOL youth to the amazing world of Scouting!  Be prepared to
learn Scouting fundamentals and meet Scouts from a variety of Troops within Kaskaskia District.
All of the Webelos/AOL youth and their leadership will be camping on Flag Hill, while each troop
will select a campsite (First come, First serve).
The activities are as follows:
Friday evening:  Campfire and cracker barrel
Sat morning:  Webelos/AOL will cook their own breakfast (with assistance)
Sat lunch: Walking Tacos prepared together at a Scout campsite
Sat Supper:  Webelos/AOL will prepare and cook their own Foil pack.
Cope — Awesome Bransons Each team must consist of a minimum of 2 Cubs and 2 Scouts
Sat evening: Campfire (Troop ???) and cracker barrel (created by Troop 357 and Cubs)
Sat later evening – Stargazing on Flag HIll
Sun breakfast:  A grab’n’go breakfast.
Sun:  Interfaith Worship
Sun:  Service project
Activities (taught by various troops and awesome adults):
Note:  All teaching activities shall include ‘hands-on’ activities for Webelos/AOL
