Cost should never be a barrier to Scouting. Financial assistance is available to help every youth participate.
The Orange County Council is committed to making Scouting accessible to every family in our community. Through the generosity of donors and our annual Friends of Scouting campaign, we maintain a fund dedicated to supporting Scouts who might otherwise be unable to participate.
Assistance is available for annual membership fees, uniform and handbook costs, and camp fees. All applications are reviewed confidentially by our staff, and decisions are made without regard to race, religion, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
Yes. All applications are reviewed only by council staff and are never shared with troop leaders, other families, or anyone outside the assistance program team.
Most applications are reviewed within 5–7 business days. You’ll receive an email update once a decision has been made.
Yes, please submit a separate application for each Scout so we can review every child’s needs individually.
No financial documentation is required up front. Our team may follow up if additional information is needed to process your request.
